Outdoors, the property offers a range of activities and amenities for guests to enjoy. Two kayaks, life jackets, water toys, and outdoor chairs are available for use, making it easy to embrace the natural surroundings and spend quality time outside. A washer and dryer are located in the basement for your convenience—please remember to bring septic-safe detergent. The cottage operates on a septic system and draws water from a natural well, so guests are advised to bring bottled water for drinking and food preparation. Smoking is not permitted inside, and guests are asked to respect the property and local environment during their stay. Whether you're unwinding by the firepit, enjoying a quiet evening indoors, or exploring the outdoors, this cottage offers a simple yet well-equipped space to relax, recharge, and enjoy time away from the everyday.

House Rules

🚭 Smoking, Vaping, and Cigarettes Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the cottage. Smoking, vaping, and e-cigarettes are allowed only outside, and only by the firepit area. Do not dispose of cigarette butts on the ground. Use a proper receptacle. Improper disposal of cigarette butts (e.g., leaving them around the property) will result in a $200 cleanup fee. 👥 Guest and Occupancy Limits Maximum number of guests: 8 people (6 adults + 2 children). Anyone 16 years or older is considered an adult. Exceeding this limit may result in: Immediate eviction without refund, or An additional $200/night per unauthorized guest, at the owner’s discretion. No camping, tenting, or other temporary accommodations are allowed on the property without written permission. 🧹 Cleanliness and Care Guests must leave the cottage in the same condition it was found. All furniture and fixtures must remain in their original positions—do not rearrange. Set all baseboard heaters to 5°C before leaving. Garbage and recycling must be removed from the property (do not leave it outside). Any garbage left behind will incur a $60 disposal fee. 🛑 Restricted Use and Safety Do not enter or interfere with anything in the HVAC room except the washer and dryer. Use only septic-safe detergent. The propane fireplace on the main level must remain OFF at all times. Do not turn off the humidifier located in the lower level. Only natural waste and toilet paper should be flushed down the toilet—avoid excess paper to protect the septic system. Tap water is not safe for drinking or food preparation. Guests must bring their own bottled water. 🧰 Shed & Outdoor Equipment Guests may use items stored in the sheds: Use side door only to remove kayaks Return all items (e.g., kayaks, life jackets, chairs) to their original location after use Lock the shed before checkout Bigger shed key is in the kitchen keyholder Use water toys and kayaks at your own risk—know how to kayak and use a life jacket. 🐾 Bugs and Wildlife Expect critters, insects, and bugs—this is cottage country! Bring and use bug spray. Never leave food or garbage outside—it attracts wildlife. 🔇 Noise and Community Etiquette Quiet hours begin at 09:00 PM. No loud parties or disturbances—this is a quiet community where neighbors look out for one another. If approached by neighbors, kindly identify yourselves as guests of the owner. 🧳 Lost & Found Items left behind can be returned upon request. A minimum $25 administration fee will apply for the return of any lost items.

Water Safety: The cottage uses a natural well water system. The tap water is safe for drinking or food preparation. Guests are advised to bring their own bottled water. Septic System: The property runs on a septic system. Please only flush toilet paper and natural waste. Use toilet paper conservatively to avoid clogs. Linens & Essentials: Beds are equipped with one base bedsheet. We provide Linens, towels, and paper products. Guests are encouraged to bring their own bedding and personal supplies. Garbage Disposal: Do not leave garbage outside—it attracts wildlife. All waste must be taken to a local landfill site (first 2 bags are free; tipping fees apply afterward). A $60 fee will be charged for any garbage left at the cottage. Disposal site info: North Bruce Peninsula Waste Management Fireplace: The propane fireplace must remain OFF at all times. Smoking: Smoking is strictly prohibited indoors. Smoking is only permitted by the firepit area outdoors. Guests must dispose of cigarette butts properly—a $200 fee applies if butts are found on the ground. Wildlife & Insects: Being in a natural, wooded area, guests may encounter bugs and small wildlife. We recommend bringing insect repellent and embracing the cottage-country experience. Community Respect: The cottage is located in a quiet, friendly community. Please be considerate—no loud parties or noise after 10:00 PM. No Camping or Tents: Setting up tents or any outdoor accommodation is not permitted without prior written approval.
